Starting with Partage — Create a wallet

Somewhat the very beginning of all web3 endeavors is to create a compatible wallet with the platform you’re willing to use. Partage-v1 is built on the Stacks blockchain, whose compatible wallets are Hiro and Xverse.

To connect a wallet, follow these steps:

• Go to https://hellopartage.xyz
• Click on Login in the top right corner to be redirected to the authentication page.
• Click on Connect Wallet. A popup window will open to ask you to get a Stacks-compatible wallet. You have the choice to use Hiro Wallet or Xverse Wallet. Your choice makes no difference in the use of our platform. Click to Download the wallet of your choice.

Two options of wallets are currently available on the Stacks blockchain apps.

• You will be redirected to the corresponding page on the Chrome Web Store. You can read more details about the wallet extension and will click on “Add to Chrome” when you’re ready.
• After processing, you’ll find your wallet icon in the extension section, next to the search bar of your internet browser. Click on the wallet icon to open it.

• If it’s your first time using your wallet, you’ll be proposed to “Create a new wallet”. Click on that button. If you already created a wallet and want to connect it to the Partage platform, click on “Sign in with Secret Key” or “Connect your Ledger”.
• By clicking on “Create a wallet” you will be presented with a 24-word seed phrase. This unique and personal seed phrase will give you access to your wallet. It will be asked every time you connect your wallet from a new browser, or re-install your browser. Save it in a secure place, never share it with anyone and never lose it, or you’d lose access to your wallet and all your belongings. Once you’re ready and your seed phrase is securely saved somewhere, click on “I’ve backed it up” to go further.
• You will be prompted to set and confirm a password. This password gives you quick access to your wallet when you want to use it in a new session. Remind this one as well.
• Once you’ll have filled in your password, you’ll be proposed to create an account. You can create as many accounts as you want and will find them all in your newly created wallet. Each account has its own Stacks address and Bitcoin address. You can switch from one account to another by clicking on “Switch Account” in the wallet menu.
• Go back to the login page of the Partage platform and click on “Connect wallet”. Choose the account you’d like to use on the Partage platform. Once your wallet is connected, you’ll find a reminder of your mainnet and testnet addresses on the authentication page.

• To disconnect your wallet, click on “Disconnect wallet”. This will redirect you to the homepage.
