SMART-CITY: Defined by insiders

Smart-City Ecosystem is a WhatsApp group of CEOs, Directors and Entrepreneurs of the Smart-City concept. It gather 80 members from all over the world, who exchange news, informations and good practices about their activity in Smart-City concept developments.

Smart-City often appears to the uninitiated as a complex and unclear concept.

Introduction: Goals and method

Since one and half decade now, Smart-City looks to be one of the most attractive key-word for industrials and electives who want to claim their engagement in a global transformation strategy of the city through digital impulse.

Research and Innovation developments in city management leaded to many new terms: Knowledge City, Data City, Digital City, Wired City and on another trend Green City, Environmental City, Sustainable City… These new labels match both with technical progress acceleration and the need for cities to be more visible in a very challenging market, to attract the most investors, create new jobs and ensure long-term revenues for local finances.

By this point of view, Digital City is a new layer to apply on regular cities, no more, same for Sustainable City, while Smart-City tries to make a joint between those two.
