CIVIL SOCIETY: Futures of Citizenship and Democracy through Digital Perspective

In pursuing my research of a frame to ease all stakeholders participation in decision-making on the future of their cities, I present in this article the contemporary tendencies in Citizenship and Democracy and the last emerging trends in their foresight. A logical continuation of my previous writing “CIVIL SOCIETY: Evolutions of Citizenship and Democracy along history”.

Golden City is a good French Sci-Fi comics, by Daniel Pecqueur. It depicts the adventures of privileged few, living in a secluded floating city, and the tribulations of a humanistic chairman and his friends.

Introduction :

As said in “SMART-CITY: Key Success Factors”, stakeholder engagement appears, in nowadays democracy context, to be the first priority goal to succeed urban projects. Increasing implication of citizens in making non-public regulations, brings at least two questions: how to manage a collective decision-taking process where each stakeholder represent its own interests? What do stakeholders implication says on political system in contemporary democracies? A proposition of answer have been presented in “SMART-CITY: Stakeholders roles and needs”.
